🌊🚤 Our oyster restoration efforts are going full steam ahead as we continue to plant oysters and support marine ecosystems. This week, were thrilled to announce that spat on shell was deployed to the beautiful waters of the Manokin River! These tiny oyster spat, carefully nestled on recycled oyster shells, represent hope for the future of our coastal waters and with each planting, were enhancing water quality, providing habitat for countless marine species, and bolstering the resilience of our shorelines against erosion.

Heres to another successful round of oyster plantings, and to the continued collaboration and dedication of everyone involved. Thank you for supporting our efforts to restore and protect the natural beauty of the Manokin River and beyond!

@faidleysseafood much-anticipated move to the new Lexington Market appears to be complete and we are so excited to have checked out the new space! Faidley’s, a top 10 SRA and the last vendor in the old East Market building, finally made the transition. In its new space, Faidley’s occupies the footprint of about five regular market stalls, alongside an outdoor dining patio and a second-floor mezzanine for storage. Fresh ideas are in store for Faidley’s and plans include offering beer and wine on tap to reduce waste, adding sparkling wine to the menu for oyster-and-prosecco pairings, and introducing chargrilled oysters and clams.

However, many aspects familiar to longtime patrons will remain unchanged. Over 300 signs from the old market are reinstalled, and sturdy wooden tables for customers to enjoy Faidley’s famous crabcakes or coddies made the move as well. The business’s rich history is celebrated in a mural on the new market’s exterior, depicting five generations of the Faidley family.
