ESTABLISH THE MGO PROGRAM IN YOUR AREA

ORP welcomes new Chesapeake Bay tributaries into the MGO program! Any new waterway must fall below a salinity boundary along the southern shore of the Patapsco River and the Corsica River within the Chester. A new tributary group should designate a local coordinator (individual or organization) who will manage the program in the area. Examples include a community association, nonprofit organization, RiverKeeper, or similar group that will recruit volunteer growers, organize the delivery of cages and young oysters to volunteers, and develop a collection plan for mature oysters that are ready to be planted on a local sanctuary.
