Kyle Gilbert
Kyle Gilbert currently serves as Government Affairs Officer for the Investment Company Institute, the leading trade association representing the global asset management industry. Prior to joining ICI, Kyle served as a Senior Associate at Black Diamond Strategies, where he leveraged his extensive political experience to develop messaging, build grassroots campaigns, and lobby on behalf of Fortune 500 clients across a wide range of industries.
Kyle’s background includes serving in senior roles on multiple statewide campaigns, including as Campaign Manager for a U.S. Senate race in New Hampshire.
Prior to his work at Black Diamond Strategies, Kyle served in a variety of senior roles for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan. As Director of Operations for the Hogan-Rutherford Inaugural Committee and Director of Political Operations for Hogan’s re-election campaign, Kyle was instrumental in crafting a political strategy that enabled a Republican governor to win by double digits in a traditionally blue state. From 2015 – 2018 Kyle served as Senior Assistant to Governor Hogan, acting as the Governor’s liaison to both the Republican Governors Association and the bipartisan National Governor’s Association, managing the Governor’s inner office, external relationships and traveling with the Governor stateside and overseas. During his time in the Hogan administration, Kyle created and managed countless public affairs campaigns to highlight and advance the Governor’s initiatives.
In addition to his government and public affairs work, Kyle is an experienced waterman and a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain. In 2019, Governor Hogan appointed him to the Maryland Seafood Marketing Advisory Commission, a position to which he was reappointed by Governor Wes Moore in 2023.
Kyle lives in Annapolis with his wife Nicole, their sons Harrison and Walton, and their dog Cooper. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, golf, hunting, fishing and cheering on his beloved Ole Miss Rebels.
