Honoring Paul Schurick’s 12 Years of Leadership at Oyster Recovery Partnership
After twelve years of dedicated service, Paul Schurick will be retiring from Oyster Recovery Partnership at the close of 2025. While we will deeply miss his steady leadership and thoughtful counsel, we are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact Paul has made on ORP, our partners, and oyster restoration efforts throughout the Chesapeake Bay.
Paul has been instrumental in shaping ORP’s work—strengthening public and private partnerships, advancing policies that support oyster restoration and sustainable fisheries, and helping position Maryland as a national leader in large-scale, science-driven restoration. Many of you have worked alongside Paul directly, and you know firsthand his collaborative spirit, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the Bay.
Paul’s contributions extend far beyond individual projects or initiatives. His work helped lay the foundation for many of the partnerships and programs that continue to drive ORP’s success today—and for that, we are profoundly thankful.
As Paul enters retirement, we are pleased to share that ORP remains well-positioned for continued momentum. Our team and partners will carry forward the work he helped build, with the same focus on collaboration, impact, and results.
Please join us in thanking Paul for his years of service and wishing him all the best in this next chapter.
If you’d like to share a note of appreciation or well wishes, we know he would welcome hearing from you. Contact Paul.
